He has been serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Biology in University of Sharjah since September 2013. Dr. Khan has achieved B.Sc (honour) in Human Genetics and a PhD degree in proteomics analysis of human embryonic and mesenchymal stem cells from University of Leeds, UK.
Following his PhD degree, Dr. Khan also worked in the University of Leeds before he joined University of Sain Malaysia as a stem cells post-doctoral research fellow at the department of Neuroscience. Dr. Khan carried out research on the differentiation of bone-marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells into neural lineages.
Currently, Dr. Khan has an active stem cells research group at the University of Sharjah where he is working to unravel the molecular pathways that govern the mesenchymal stem cells and dental pulp stem cells differentiation into adipocytes and neural progenitor-like cells.
